Barrie Police were called to a downtown pub for a intoxicated male who was yelling at the staff.
Police arrived and found a 20 year old male in a very intoxicated state and arrested him for his own safety under the Liquor Licence Act.
The male was taken to the Barrie Police Service where he began trying to assault the arresting Officer.
The male was placed in a holding cell until sober and is now facing a January court date for a charge of assault Police.
No injuries to the Officers.
