In the early hours of March 8, 2014, two males known to each other got into a fight during a party at a residence on Strasburg Road in Kitchener, which resulted in one of the males being stabbed with a steak knife. A nearby female who tried to separate the males was also stabbed. Both victims, in their early 20’s and Kitchener residents, received non-life threatening injuries for which they sought medical attention. A 25 year old Kitchener male was arrested without incident at his residence a short time after the stabbing occurred. The accused was charged with Assault with a Weapon and Aggravated Assault. This was an isolated incident and there is no concern for the safety of the general public. Illegal drugs and alcohol appear to have been factors in this incident.
