(Campbell Township, ON) – On Sunday October 13, 2013 at 2:50 am the Manitoulin OPP Detachment was dispatched to a report of a suspected arson at a residence located on Evergreen Road in Campbell Township.
A family of four resided in the residence with their two children. They were awakened by the family dog barking. The male member of the family went to investigate and smelt smoke and found a small fire had started in the basement of the residence he was able to extinguish the fire before it caught onto the rest of the building. There were no injuries in this incident and very little property damage.
Upon investigation the cause of the fire is unknown and appears suspicious. The investigation is continuing by the Manitoulin OPP. If anyone has any knowledge or information of this occurrence they are asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122. Or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
