(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH)- A two-month long multi-jurisdictional project, involving police services from across Ontario, has concluded with the arrests of two male suspects from the London area.
On Tuesday, September 27, 2016, a search warrant was executed at a residence in London, Ontario and the two suspects were arrested. They have been identified as Grant Charles SMITH, age 57, and David CARNEY, age 48, both of London, Ontario.
They are facing 8 charges of Break and Enter, 8 charges of mischief, 4 charges of possession of property obtained by crime (over $5000) 5 counts of wear disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence and 3 counts of possession of burglary tools.
As a result of these arrests, Nottawasaga Detachment Street Crime Unit has cleared a total of 3 separate Break and Enters.
February 21, 2016, Break and Enter at Esso Quick Stop, Highway 9
August 13, 2016, Break and Enter at Shell Gas Station, Highway 9
September 6, 2016, Break and Enter at New Tecumseth Recreation, Alliston.
Agencies involved include, Durham Regional Police, Ontario Provincial Police, Niagara Regional police, Sudbury Regional Police, Sarnia Police, Kingston Police and Waterloo Regional Police.
The two accused will appear before court in Durham Region, (Oshawa).
