Arrests Made At RIDE

On November 3rd, 2014 Bharatkumar TAILOR, 51, from Burlington was arrested and charged with Care or Control While Impaired and Over 80.

On November 9th, 2014 Darren NORGAARD, 37, of Orangeville was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired and Over 80. Also, Christopher W. F. SCHWIND, 31, of Caledon was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired and Refuse to Provide Sample.

Awareness and education are the foundations for reducing impaired driving in the Town of Caledon. However, legislation and enforcement are also key considerations for those who continue to drink and drive.

The R.I.D.E. enforcement campaign started in 1977 as Reduce Impaired Driving in Etobicoke”. The program is now a provincial campaign led by the police community that runs all year long and involves police spot checks where vehicles are stopped and drivers are checked for impairment. The campaign also has a significant public awareness component.

It doesn’t take much alcohol to impair your driving—just because you’ve only had a couple of drinks doesn’t mean you’re okay to drive.”
