ARREST MADE IN MARIJUANA GROW INVESTIGATION

(Prince Edward County, ON)—On September 3, 2014 at 10:26pm officers from the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Drug Enforcement Unit (DES), OPP Canine Unit and members of the Prince Edward County OPP detachment executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence located on Belleville St., Wellington, ON.

The police investigation revealed an indoor marihuana grow operation. Police seized a quantity of marihuana plants, processed marihuana, cannabis resin and several firearms. The street value of the drugs is estimated at $21,000.

A 40-year old man, Scott McFAUL of Wellington is charged with:

Possession of Substance Included in Schedule II, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Production of a Schedule II Substance, contrary to Section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Careless Storage of a Firearm, contrary to Section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, contrary to Section 95(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was later released from police custody on a promise to appear and undertaking and is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Picton, on October 15, 2014.
