(DUNNVILLE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision at a Haldimand Road 17, Dunnville, Haldimand County, Ontario.
On Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at approximately 9:52 p.m., members of the Haldimand County Detachment responded to a head- on motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles.
As a result of investigation, a male was taken into custody and later complained of injuries. Police contacted local Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
EMS transported the male to a local hospital for further treatment. After being assessed, the male was then transported to a Hamilton area hospital to be treated for injuries.
The OPP notified Ontario’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and this morning they have invoked their mandate. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
The Haldimand OPP Crime Unit is conducting a parallel investigation into the collision. Charges are pending.
