(Vankleek Hill, ON) Hawkesbury OPP officers arrested a 24 year old male yesterday for a robbery that was committed at the MacEwen Gas Station situated at 5819 Highway 34 in Vankleek Hill shortly before 11 am yesterday.
The investigation revealed that the man had hidden his face during the commission of the offence.
The Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit and the OPP Identification Unit assisted in the investigation.
Eric Edward SIKALA (24 yrs) of no fixed address was arrested.
He was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following sections:
– 344(1)(b) Robbery with Weapon
– 351(2) Disguise with Intent
– 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada
– 249(1)(a) Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
– 252 Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident
He appeared at a bail hearing earlier this afternoon where he was remanded to July 21st for a video court appearance.
