(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On March 18, 2018 a male, formerly of the Township of Southgate, unexpectedly attended the home of his estranged spouse currently living in the Township of Southgate. The couple had been separated since early 2000. Police were contacted after the male refused to leave and uttered threats to a male residing at the residence.
The suspect left the area prior to police arrival. As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for the suspect, a 50-year old male from Essa Township, charging him with Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Criminal Harassment, and Assault (Spousal).
On March 26, 2018, the male was arrested by Nottawasaga OPP on the outstanding arrest warrant and turned over to Grey County OPP.
He was held for a bail hearing on March 27, 2018 and released on a recognizance of bail. He is scheduled to return to court in Owen Sound on April 19, 2018.
