Armed Robbery In Chatsworth

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Williamsford General Store located on Highway 6 in the Township of Chatsworth.

On Thursday, December 23, 2015 at approximately 7:41 p.m., a lone male entered the Williamsford General Store and displayed a weapon. He demanded money from the cash register. A quantity of cash and a carton of cigarettes were turned over to the suspect who then exited the store and fled on foot, southbound on Highway 6. The two employees/owners of the business were not physically injured.

The OPP Canine Unit and the OPP Emergency Response Team assisted in the search for the suspect having negative results.

The suspect was described as male, approximately 6’ tall and medium build. He was wearing a black balaclava and black gloves. He was also wearing black garbage bags which were taped over top of his clothing.

Grey County OPP, with the assistance of the Grey County Crime Unit continues to investigate and ask anyone who may have seen this individual or has any information which may assist to contact the OPP immediately at 1-888-310-1122.
