Armed Robbery – 15 &18 Year Old Face Numerous Charges

(PEMBROKE, ON) – On January 27, 2015 at approximately 7:46 pm members of the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Pembroke Variety store on Trafalgar Road in the City of Pembroke. Two male suspects wearing balaclavas and armed with weapons entered the store and stole merchandise and cash before fleeing on foot. No one was injured.

Responding officers located and arrested two suspects a short time later. Michael STEIN, age 18, of no fixed address and a 15-year-old male are charged with:

robbery with a weapon,
possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00, and
wearing a disguise with intent.

The 15-year-old is further charged with uttering threats.

Both males were held for a bail hearing on January 28, 2015 in the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke

The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine Unit assisted in the investigation. The investigating officer is Cst. Mike Howat.
