(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County detachment has charged a 28 year old male with several Criminal Code offences after investigating a break and enter with violence at a Kent Street South, Simcoe, Norfolk County, ON address.
Today, Thursday October 22nd, 2015 at approximately 2:00 am Police received a 911 call advising of a break and enter in progress at a Kent St apartment.
Upon arrival at the scene Police were met by the complainant and were led into an apartment where the suspect had been detained by the occupants and was subsequently arrested by Police.
Investigation has revealed that at approximately 2:00 am the apartment was forcibly entered and a firearm was displayed. The suspect demanded contraband, but was confronted by the occupants where a physical confrontation took place and he was subdued.
As a result of the confrontation one of the male apartment occupants sustained a minor injury which did not require medical treatment.
Charged with Robbery using a Firearm, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Pointing a Firearm, Break and Enter and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order is 28 year old Justin SHARPE of Oxford County, ON. He is currently in custody and will be appear for a bail hearing today, Thursday October 22nd, 2015 at 1:30 pm at the Provincial Court, Simcoe, ON.
