(BANCROFT, ON) – On February 18, 2017, at approximately 8:25pm, Bancroft Ontario Provincial Police, (OPP) officers responded to a report of a motorized snow vehicle (MSV) that went through the ice on Pusey Lake in the municipality of Highlands East. Officers attended the scene and determined that the operator and passenger entered the water on the MSV and only the female passenger was able to get out of the water to safety. On February 20, 2017 OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) members attended and recovered the body of the male driver.
Robert BELL (53) of Mount Albert, Ontario, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
