(TOWNSHIP OF ESSA) – On Thursday, the 13th of August, 2015, at approximately 11:32 pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Nottawasaga Detachment were dispatched to a complaint of a possible Impaired Driver travelling south on Highway 27 from the 9th Line of Essa. Vehicle was described as a grey Toyota, and weaving within the southbound lane.
The vehicle was observed by OPP and subsequently stopped at the 5th sideroad and 5th Line of Essa Township. Investigation revealed the driver to be intoxicated.
A 52 year old male from Mulmur Township faces charges of Driving While Ability Impaired; Driving with more than 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in Blood; and Possession of Cannabis Marihuana.
A 52 year old passenger in the vehicle from Orangeville was charged with having liquor in a place other than a residence. He was issued a Certificate of Offence.
