(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at approximately 9:51 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 26 between Concession 2 and Irish Block Road in the Municipality of Meaford, resulting in charges.
The collision occurred when a 2010 Kia Soul vehicle collided with the rear end of a 2006 Ford Escape whilst both vehicles were travelling westbound on Hwy. 26.
The driver of the Ford, a 78 year old male from the Municipality of Meaford, was taken to hospital via ambulance as a precaution and released.
The driver of the Kia, Angus MACASKILL, 29, of Tobermory, Ontario, was charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act and possession of marihuana – under 30grams, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, February 26, 2015.
