(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On October 12, 2015 at approximately 1:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting radar enforcement on Highway 6 near Laird Road, Guelph. A man driving a 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck was observed well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 130km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
43-year-old Andrew NIEHAUS of Alberta has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on November 18, 2015 to answer to the charge.
