(GODERICH, ON) – On April 6, 2012 at approximately 2:30 a.m. Huron County OPP officers responded to a citizen complaint of a group of males trespassing at the Goderich Toyota dealership located on Huron Road. A witness observed one of the trespassers standing on top of one of the parked cars tampering with a dealership sign. Officers arrived and located one of the suspects nearby the car dealership. Upon speaking with the male, he was arrested and a quantity of an illegal drug was located.
Officers further questioned the male and it was determined he was also responsible for causing mischief to the Huron Road LCBO that is currently under construction. On February 29, 2012 officers responded to the new LCBO and discovered 32 window panes had been smashed out causing approximately $10,000 in damage to the building.
As a result, Andrew FICKLING, age 19, from Goderich has been charged with Mischief Under $5,000, Mischief Over $5,000 and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. A court date is scheduled for Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on June 4, 2012.
