Amanda Schneider – Drunk Driving, Fail To Remain

(South Huron, ON) On July 30, 2010 shortly before 11:00 pm, a vehicle was observed by an independent witness as it sideswiped a parked vehicle on Main Street South in Exeter. The suspect vehicle was then observed leaving Exeter southbound on London Road. The witness called police and followed the vehicle into Middlesex County where their location was updated through the OPP Provincial Communication Center in London.

Middlesex OPP officers located the suspect vehicle on Elginfield Road and stopped it. The driver was arrested for Impaired Driving and was taken to the Lucan OPP Detachment where she provided two samples of her breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician. The results of the breath samples confirmed that the driver had a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.

As a result of the investigation and coordinated efforts between the two counties, Amanda SCHNEIDER (18) of Bluewater has been charged with one count of Impaired Driving, one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and one count of Fail to Remain at the Scene of a Collision. SCHNEIDER will answer to these charges as well as addition charges under the Liquor Licence Act and the Highway Traffic Act in the Ontario Court of Justice – London on September 16, 2010.
