(BRIGHTON, ON) – On Saturday November 23, 2013 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to collision on County Road 2 in the Municipality of Brighton just after midnight.
OPP officers attended to the scene of a single motor vehicle rollover collision on County Road 2 east of Lisgar Street within the Municipality of Brighton where four occupants in the vehicle had managed to extract themselves prior to police arriving.
OPP conducted an investigation into the crash and found that the silver two-door Saturn was travelling westbound on County Road 2 when a female passenger, sitting on the rear driver’s side, reached over and grabbed the steering wheel from the female driver causing them to go into the north ditch landing the Saturn on the passenger side.
Northumberland Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended and transported all four occupants to a local hospital for minor non-life threatening injuries.
Amanda JAMES, 19 of Brighton, Ontario has been charged under the Criminal Code with three counts of mischief endangering life. The accused was released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Tuesday January 7, 2014.
