(BLUEWATER, ON) – A 42 year old female driver is facing a charge of Drive While Under Suspension following a traffic stop on September 5, 2014. Shortly after 8:00 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was alerted to a possible suspended driver as he was monitoring the traffic flow on London Road near Hurondale Road.
The cruiser, equipped with an Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) computer device sounded an alert after the licence plate of a southbound Chevrolet was captured by the onboard ALPR camera. The ALPR system identified the attached licence plate as being registered to a suspended driver.
A traffic stop was initiated and it was confirmed the driver held a suspended driver’s licence. As a result, 42 year old Heather WILLIAMSON from North Huron was charged with Drive While Under Suspension. She will have to attend Provincial Offences Court in Goderich on October 7, 2014 to answer to the charge.
