(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment have charged a 24-year-old male after police stopped a vehicle at a Norfolk County Road 23, Houghton, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Sunday, November 20, 2016 at approximately 11:38 a.m., officers were patrolling Norfolk County Road 28 and were operating an Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) vehicle, which detects licence plates in poor standing.
As the officers were travelling southbound, the ALPR vehicle alerted the officer to a licence plate on a vehicle travelling northbound on Norfolk County Road 28. The vehicle was subsequently stopped and investigated at a Norfolk County Road 23 address.
As a result, police have charged 24-year-old Heinrich Banman KLASSEN of Norfolk County, Ontario with driving while under suspension, use plate not authorized for vehicle, use validation not furnished for vehicle, driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor and possession of Marihuana.
He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
