Almaguin Highlands Report

(PERRY TWP, ON) – On Tuesday August 9, 2016 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the theft of a dirt bike from a Whitney Road residence.

Sometime between Monday August 8, 2016 at approximately 1:00 p.m. and Tuesday August 9, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. unknown person(s) stole a 2004 Kawasaki KL6 Enduro dirt bike. The motorcycle is valued at approximately $4000.

Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.

ALMAGUIN HIGHLANDS OPP INVESTIGATING THE

THEFT OF A DOZEN FANCY CHICKENS

(PERRY TWP, ON) – The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police is investigating the theft of a dozen Fancy chickens from an Emsdale Road, Perry Township residence. Unknown person(s) stole the chickens sometime on Tuesday August 9, 2016 between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Police are investigating and any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.

OPP CHARGE DRIVER WITH POSSESSION OF MARIHUANA

(PERRY TWP, ON) – On Monday August 15, 2016 at approximately 3:00 p.m. the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program at the intersection of Bay Lake Road and Rochester Lake Road. A vehicle approached the R.I.D.E. program and the driver was subsequently arrested for possession of marihuana. Further investigation revealed that the driver also had a suspended drivers licence.

OPP charged Brett MARLES, 37 of Huntsville, Ontario with Possession of a schedule II substance, cannabis marihuana – under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), and two counts of drive while under suspension, contrary to section 53 (1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday September 22, 2016 in Sundridge, Ontario.
