(ARMOUR TWP, ON) – On Saturday August 20, 2016 at approximately 6:45p.m the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a R.I.D.E. program (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) at Pickeral and Jack Lake Road and Berriedale Road.
A westbound vehicle approached the officer and following a police investigation the passenger, Gordon MCCARTY, 28 of Barrie Ontario was arrested for possession of marihuana.
Police charged and released the accused with Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday October 13, 2016 in Sundridge, Ontario.

BREAK AND ENTER TO SOUTH RIVER CHIP TRUCK
(SOUTH RIVER, ON) – The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a break and enter to a chip truck located on Highway 124 in the Village of South River. Sometime overnight between Saturday August 20, 2016 and Sunday August 21, 2016 unknown person(s) entered the chip truck and stole a small amount of change, a bag of chicken fingers and pogos.
Police are investigating and any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.

OPP CHARGE HUNTSVILLE DRIVER WITH IMPAIRED
(ARMOUR TWP, ON) – On Friday August 21, 2016 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to investigate a trespassing incident at a local business in Burk’s Falls. When officers arrived at the location they observed a vehicle parked with the driver inside the vehicle. Police spoke to the driver and subsequently arrested him for exceeding the legal limit of alcohol.
The accused, Andrew CROZIER, 53 of Huntsville Ontario was charged with care or control while impaired, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) and care or control over 80 milligrams, contrary to section 253(1)(b) CC. The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday October 13, 2016 in Sundridge, Ontario.
