(BURK’S FALLS, ON) On Sunday January 26, 2013 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to an apartment building in Burk’s Falls, Ontario after a male pointed a firearm at another resident in the apartment building.
The female victim arrived home at approximately 5:00 p.m. and discovered some DVD’S belonging to the accused was missing from her residence. The victim attended the accused apartment to see if he had taken the DVD’S and when he opened the door he pointed a firearm at her and threatened her. The accused assaulted the female several times before she was able to get away.
OPP officers arrested the accused, Michael YOUNG (52) of Burk’s Falls, Ontario and charged him with pointing a firearm, assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, unauthorized possession of a weapon and break and enter, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused is to appear in Bail Court on Monday January 27, 2014 in Parry Sound Ontario.
