(CITY OF LONDON, ON) – Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male driver and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days as a result of the driver being impaired.
On November 8, 2013 at approximately 3:04 p.m. police received a report of a vehicle being driven erratically westbound on Highway 401 in Middlesex County. Police intercepted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
Police had reason to believe the driver was impaired by alcohol and he was arrested and transported to the OPP London Detachment for further tests. As a result of the investigation, the driver Allen SMITH, age 46 of London, Ontario was charged with impaired driving and over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The driver was later released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear. He is scheduled to appear in a London Court on December 19, 2013 to speak to the charges.
