Allan Brough – Threat & Weapon Charges

(Bancroft, Ontario) – During the mid-afternoon on the 10th day of September 2015, police received a complaint involving a male threatening his neighbor with a firearm, on Loop Road in the Municipality of Highlands East, near the community of Harcourt.

Officers from the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police attended the scene and spoke with the complainant who advised of hearing gun-shots outside of his house earlier that day. The complainant advised that he went to see what the source of the shooting was, and saw his neighbor, who he had been having ongoing issues with, parked outside of the property with a long-gun in his hands. The complainant approached the neighbor, who then made a threatening statement to the complainant, before departing the scene.

Police attended the residence of the neighbor, and subsequently arrested 56 year-old Allan Brough of Cavan-Monaghan Township. He was held in custody, awaiting an appearance before bail court, set for the 11th of September 2015, charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, and Uttering Threats.
