Alexander CRUTCHLEY – Drunk Driving

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 19, 2015 at approximately 3:20 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a male sleeping in a Ford Explorer that was parked in a parking lot on St. Andrews Street in Fergus.

Officers located and spoke with the male who was seated in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The engine was off and the keys were in the ignition. Upon speaking to the male, police noted obvious signs of impairment and detected the strong odour of alcohol on his breath. An Approved Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail.

The driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

25-year-old Alexander CRUTCHLEY of Fergus has been charged with Care or Control Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 5, 2016 to answer to the charge.
