(WARREN, ON) –The Warren Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is presently investigating an assault that was brought to their attention on February 11, 2017 through a media source.
The assault occurred on February 1, 2017 between the hours of 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm on Highway 17 between the Towns of Warren and Verner.
The female victim was operating her vehicle eastbound on the Highway when she was flagged down by a male whose vehicle was stopped on the south shoulder. The male subject’s vehicle is described as an older model station wagon or small Sports Utility Vehicle with the back hatch open at the time of this incident. The female approached the rear of the male subject’s vehicle where she was assaulted.
The OPP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle and male responsible. The OPP is also interested in speaking to the driver of an eastbound light colored pick-up truck who might have witnessed this incident.
