ALERT: Call 911 To Make Sure It’s The Real Police That Pulled You Over

(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police in Elgin and Oxford County would like to make the public aware of a vehicle that is impersonating a police officer.

On November 29, 2017 around 11:50p.m. a motorist on Talbot Line near Carson Road in the Municipality of Bayham was approached by a dark coloured Pontiac G5 style vehicle. This vehicle had red and blue lights activated within the front windshield. The vehicle then left westbound on Talbot Line.

On November 30, 2017 around 10:30p.m. a motorist was stopped by a similar vehicle on Plank Line north of Mount Elgin, Ontario. Again a similar interaction took place and the vehicle left.

If the public is ever unsure if a police officer is stopping them please contact 9-1-1 to confirm your stop location with police. Impersonating a police officer is a criminal offence.
