(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) – On March 21, 2017 at approximately 4:40 a.m. an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a silver Dodge Caravan being driven aggressively on Speedvale Ave. E, in the Township of Guelph/Eramosa. While the officer attempted to initiate a stop of the vehicle it was observed to fail to stop at a stop sign and drive 125 km/hr in a posted 60 km/hr zone.
37-year-old Aleem KHAN of Brampton has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle, Disobeying a Stop Sign and Drive Left of Centre while approaching a crest, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 3, 2017 to answer to the charges. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute
