Alcohol Related Offences On The Rise Over The Holiday Weekend

(Peterborough County, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were kept busy over the Victoria Day Weekend with numerous arrests for alcohol related driving offences and complaints.

(Otonabee-South Monaghan Township) – On Friday night, just after 11:00pm, motorists called police after noticing a car in front of them swerving.

Doug LITTLE (age 49) of Faraday Township was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and Driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood. He is scheduled to appear in Peterborough Provincial Court on June 25, 2015.

(Douro-Dummer Township) – On Saturday night, just after 6:00pm a male was arrested after operating a golf cart after consuming alcohol.

Karl HAMILTON (age 53) of Douro-Dummer Township is charged with Impaired Driving, Driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood and Driving While Suspended. The accused is scheduled to appear in Peterborough Provincial Court on June 25, 2015.

(Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township) – Early on Sunday morning, just before 5:00am, members of the Northumberland Detachment of the OPP were in the area and initiated a traffic stop in the Village of Havelock.

Christopher BARRY (age 33) of Aurora, ON was arrested and charged with Driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood. The accused is scheduled to appear in Peterborough Provincial Court on June 11, 2015.

(Otonabee-South Monaghan Township) – Sunday morning just after 9:30am a vehicle was stopped after failing to move over for an emergency vehicle.

Benjamin NACHMANI (age 26) of Toronto, ON was arrested and charged with driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood. The accused is scheduled to appear in Peterborough Provincial Court on June 18, 2015.

(Municipality of Trent Lakes) – Just after midnight on Monday morning Peterborough County OPP officers stopped a vehicle on Fire Route 6 in the Municipality of Trent Lakes.

John CADDIGAN (age 26) of Lake of the Woods Township was arrested and charged with care and control of a vehicle with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood. The accused is scheduled to appear in Peterborough Provincial Court on June 11, 2015.

(Selwyn Township) – Peterborough County OPP members were called to assist with a suspicious vehicle in the Village of Lakefield just after 1:30am Monday morning.

Brett Kenneth PIPHER (age 24) of Douro-Dummer Township was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood. The accused is scheduled to appear in Peterborough Provincial Court on June 25, 2015.

(Peterborough) – Members of the Peterborough OPP detachment investigated a driver on Armour Road just before 3:00am on Monday morning.

Craig STINSON (age 32) of Peterborough, ON was arrested and charged with driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood. The accused is scheduled to appear in Peterborough Provincial Court on June 18, 2015.
