Ahmad ALABDALLAH – 160 in an 80

(MANITOUWADGE, ON)- A 28 year-old male has been charged with Stunt Driving after being stopped by an officer from the Manitouwadge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On August 22, 2016, the officer was on patrol on Highway 614 when the officer observed a vehicle, being a Chevrolet Cruz, approach at an extremely high rate of speed on a section of highway with many hills and curves. The driver was driving in excess of 160 km/hr in a posted 80km/hr zone.

Ahmad ALABDALLAH, of Mississauga, Ont, has been charged with Stunt Driving contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

His driver’s license was seized and suspended for seven days. The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.

He will appear in Provincial Offences Court on November 22, 2016, in Marathon to answer to the charge.

OPP reminds motorists to obey the speed limit, and watch for wild animals such as moose and bear which frequently cross area roadways. Striking another vehicle, pedestrian or wild animal, even while travelling below the speed limit, can cause serious injury and property damage.
