Adam Chiarelli – Trafficking

On December 20 / 21, 2014 between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m., the Guelph Police Service conducted a RIDE program in the City of Guelph. 255 vehicles were checked by officers with 13 roadside screening tests being administered. Police issued one novice driver licence suspension for a driver registering alcohol on the approved screening device. Police also detected a strong odor of a marihuana inside one of the vehicles that entered the RIDE lane. The investigation led to the driver of that vehicle being arrested. Police seized approximately 93 grams of marihuana and $560 cash.

Adam Chiarelli, 18 years of Guelph has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. He will appear in court on February 17, 2014.

Guelph Police would like to remind drivers that throughout the holiday season they will continue to conduct random spot checks for persons driving under the influence of alcohol. Registering breath samples over 80 mgs of alcohol per 100 mls of blood will result in an immediate 90 day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension. Convictions for Impaired Driving and Driving with Over 80 mgs will both result in a minimum of 12 month driving prohibition.
