(ORILLIA, ON.) – Over the past weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 148 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.
There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarm, 911 hang-ups, motor vehicle collisions, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints and Impaired drivers.
On July 18, 2015 at approximately 4:40 p.m., the Orillia OPP was dispatched to a possible impaired driver on Highway 11 south bound at Penley Road. An officer attended and located a vehicle parked in a live lane at the intersection of Penley Road and Hampshire Mills Line. The driver of the vehicle had relined his seat and was sleeping. He was awoken by the officer and arrested.
Adam CECCHINE, 31 years old of Innisfil, has been charged with Care and Control while Impaired by Drug and Breach of a Court Order. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing today in Barrie.
