(Prince Edward County, ON) At 12:25am on 19 August 2017 an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward Detachment patrolling Hwy 62 stopped a northbound vehicle that was speeding. In speaking with the driver, the officer noted signs of impairment. A roadside alcotest was administered which the driver failed. The driver was placed under arrest and brought back to the detachment where he provided samples of his breath which confirmed he had in excess of the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.
Adam BUTTS age 30yrs of Picton has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle Over 80mgs. BUTTS will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice Picton on 06 September 2017 to answer to the charges.
