Abdul ABDUL MOHAMMAD – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – On November 13, 2015, at approximately 7:14 a.m. a motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 401 eastbound, near Highbury Avenue, in the City of London, Ontario.

Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD) and the Middlesex County OPP conducted a traffic stop, and the operator of the black Audi car pulled the vehicle over. The occupants of the vehicle, the driver and front passenger, then proceeded to exchange seating positions. Officers determined both males had been drinking alcohol.

A roadside screening device was administered to the occupant of the driver’s seat, who was formerly the passenger. He registered a “fail”, was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for further breath testing.

As a result of the police investigation, 44-year-old Abdul ABDUL MOHAMMAD, from East York, Ontario, has been charged with care or control over 80 mgs, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to appear in the London court to answer to the charge on January 5, 2016.

The occupant of the front passenger seat, who was formerly the driver, was placed under arrest. He was transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing, which revealed he had consumed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.

As a result of the police investigation, 24-year-old Fesal MOHAMMAD-SOBIR, from Toronto, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol and drug), and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released from police custody by way of a PTA, and is scheduled to answer to the charges in a London court on January 7, 2016.
