(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On April 2, 2016, just before 2:00 a.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a driving complaint of a Volkswagen car driving erratically on Highway 401 eastbound just before the OnRoute Service Centre. The vehicle was then seen exiting the highway into the parking lot of the service centre.
Officers located the vehicle parked in the parking lot of the eastbound OnRoute Service Centre, with the vehicle engine idling. Officers had conversation with the male who was seated in the driver’s seat and it was determined that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages. Subsequent tests indicated that the driver was over the legal limit.
Mohammad ABDEL-HADI, 24 years old from London, has been charged with the following:
Care or Control While Impaired
Care or Control Over 80 mgs.
He will appear in a Chatham court on April 26, to answer to the charges.
