(MILDMAY, ON) On August 14, 2013 at 1:38 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspected impaired driver heading towards Mildmay in a Brown Buick Le Sabre. Officers located the vehicle on Church Street in Mildmay and signalled the driver to stop with the cruiser emergency lights. The driver ignored the police cruiser and continued driving.
The vehicle finally pulled into a driveway along Church Street where officers found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Following a brief struggle in the driveway, the driver was arrested. 37 year old Aaron FATA of Mildmay has been charged with Impaired operation, Operate over 80 milligrams, Flight from police and Resist arrest. He was held in custody pending the results of a show cause hearing scheduled for August 14, 2013 at 2:00 pm.
