(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment has charged a 62-year-old male after investigating an incident at a West Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Sunday, September 25, 2016 at approximately 9:22 a.m., police were contacted by an employee of the Norfolk General Hospital reporting an incident involving a patient.
Through the course of investigation, it was determined that a patient in the hospital attended the room of a 95-year-old male and assaulted him using a weapon that caused serious non-life threatening injuries.
As a result of investigation, police have charged a 62-year-old of Norfolk County, Ontario with assault with a weapon.
He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charge.
