(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On May 13, 2017 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residential property on Hwy. 10 in the Township of Southgate in response to a collision involving an All-Terrain-Vehicle (ATV).
The operator of the 2009 Canada Outlander ATV, a 15 year old girl, lost control of the ATV which rolled. As a result, she and two passengers, a 9 year girl and a 24 year old female were thrown from the vehicle. The operator and the 9 year old girl, both from Newmarket, Ontario, were transported to hospital with undisclosed injuries. The 24 year old female, from the Township of Southgate, was not injured.
All three riders were not wearing helmets at the time.
Grey County OPP encourage ATV owner and operators to ride safely and responsibly to reduce the risk of injury or death and to always wear an approved motorcycle helmet when riding.
