88 Year Old Hits Tree Airlifted To Hospital

(Municipality of Trent Lakes, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews are still on the scene of a serious collision on Lakehurst Road that occurred just before 12:30pm today.

A westbound Dodge Calibre on Lakehurst Road exited the roadway, for unknown reasons, and hit a stand of trees. The driver is 88 years old and resides in the area. Due to the serious nature of the injuries he was transported to a Toronto area hospital by Ornge Air Ambulance.

OPP officers trained in Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) and Collison Reconstruction remain at the scene assisting local OPP members in the investigation. Lakehurst Road is expected to re-open to traffic before 4:30pm today.
