82 Year Old Causes Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) -The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating after another intersection related collision in the County, this time on Perth Line 43 in the Township of Perth East.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m. on June 12 2020, Perth County OPP and Perth County Paramedic Services received a report of a two vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation has revealed that one SUV was travelling northbound on Perth Road 140, when it stopped at the stop sign at Perth Line 43. The vehicle then proceeded into the intersection, and collided with a westbound SUV. This intersection is controlled northbound and southbound only with a stop sign.

The drivers of the vehicles were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

As a result, an 82 year old resident of St. Marys has been charged with:

The Perth County OPP have investigated a number of intersection related collisions so far this year, and would like to remind drivers to take the extra time to stop, look…and look again before proceeding through an intersection.
