(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Yesterday, August 8, 2017 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to two separate collisions involving motorcycles.
The first collision occurred at approximately 2 pm at the intersection of Joseph Street and Prince Street in Bobcaygeon. A 59 year old Lindsay man was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after his motorcycle was struck by a pick-up truck. 80 year old J-Douglas ANDERSON of Bobcaygeon is charged with Careless Driving contrary to section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence contrary to section 32(1) HTA.
The second motorcycle involved collision occurred at approximately 5:15 pm on Highway 35, north of Rosedale. The 44 year old male driver suffered minor injuries when the motorcycle lost control on soft gravel while turning onto a cottage roadway. No charges were laid.
