On Friday December 16, 2016 at approximately 11:24 pm a patrolling officer observed an eastbound red Ford Escape stopped at the intersection of 10th Street East and 2nd Avenue East for a red light. The officer noted that the vehicle was actually stopped in the centre west bound lane.
A 71 year old Owen Sound resident was investigated and arrested when he was found to be impaired by alcohol. Breath samples provided by the male revealed his blood alcohol was twice the legal limit.
The male has been charged with; impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The male has been given a December 22, 2016 court date.
