(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On April 8, 2016, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on regular patrol duties in the City of Elliot Lake. At 11:35 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Hillside Drive South and Hutchison Avenue.
Two vehicles travelling in the same direction approached a stop sign and stopped. The lead vehicle had stopped in the marked cross-walk lane. A pedestrian was crossing and did not have enough space to cross the cross-walk. The lead vehicle then put his vehicle in reverse and backed into the vehicle behind him.
As a result of the investigation, Donald CONSTANTINEAU , 70 years age, from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with: Disobey Stop Sign – Stop Wrong Place, contrary to section 136(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act.
