7 Year Old Sustains Life Threatening Injuries In Collision

(BATCHEWANA FIRST NATION, ON) – On October 3, 2015 at approximately 1:20 pm. members of the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to single motor vehicle collision involving a car on Bear Creek Drive on the Batchewana First Nation.

A northbound car left the roadway into the northbound ditch striking a concrete retaining wall. Sault Ste. Marie OPP, Anishinabek Police Service, two OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI), Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department and Sault Ste. Marie Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene.

The 33 year old female driver and a ten month old child received non-life threatening injuries. A seven year old female passenger received life-threatening injuries. All three were transported by EMS to hospital.

The collision is still under investigation.
