66 Year Old Runs Stop Sign In Walkerton – $325 Fine and 3 Demerit Points

(WALKERTON, ON) – On January 16, 2015 at 6:00 pm, a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol in the town of Walkerton saw a Red Chevrolet Uplander drive through the intersection of Yonge Street and McGivern Street against a red light. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 66 year old Arran-Elderslie Township woman, was charged with fail to stop for red light.

The penalty for this offence is a $325 fine and 3 demerit points, but the consequences can be far worse if you become involved in a collision.
