(HALIBURTON, ON) – On May 22, 2015 at 8:04pm members from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check on Loop Road at Dark Lake Road in the Township of Highlands East.
As the vehicle entered the R.I.D.E check, officers discovered the driver had been consuming alcohol and he subsequently failed a roadside screening device test.
As a result 65 year old Bruce RENNIE of Highlands East Township was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over 80mgs of Alcohol and Having Open Liquor in his vehicle. He was issued a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days. He will appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Minden on July 8, 2015
