(ARNPRIOR, ON) – On April 2, 2016 at approximately 4:55am, officers of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call that a passer-by located a male deceased on Russell Drive, McNab Township, West of Arnprior.
The investigation indicates that the victim, 29-year-old Christopher M. Walsh of McNab Township, was struck by a motor vehicle. A post mortem examination is to be scheduled.
Today, officers arrested a 63-year-old Arnprior man in relation to the death. He was released on a Promise to Appear and Officer-in-Charge Undertaking on the charge of Fail to remain at the Scene of an Accident Causing Death. He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Renfrew, on May 4, 2016.
The OPP Renfrew County Crime Unit, under the direction of OPP Detective Inspector Rob Hagerman, Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are continuing the investigation. Anyone with information about this death is asked to contact the OPP Renfrew County Crime Unit at1-888-310-1122.
