62 Year Old Charged For Failing To Stop For School Bus

(Marmora, ON) – On November 5, 2015 at 4:15 p.m. a member of Central Hastings O.P.P stopped a vehicle travelling on Highway # 7 near Greensides Lane after it was observed failing to stop for a stopped school bus with its lights activated.

The 62 year old female driver of Toronto, ON was charged with Fail to Stop for School Bus under the Highway Traffic Act.

Central Hastings O.P.P reminds drivers that they must obey the school bus law on any road, no matter how many lanes or what the speed limit, including the four lane sections of Highway # 7, regardless of whether they are behind the bus or approaching it from the front.

If you don’t stop, you can be fined $400 to $2,000 and get six demerit points for a first offence.
